My Teaching Bio

After working at AT&T for over 41 years, I retired in 2007. I graduated from Thomas Edison State University with a BA degree in Psychology that same year. Shortly thereafter, I began substitute teaching at schools in my area. Since then, I’ve worked in 170 schools in that capacity.

During that time, I’ve had the privilege of observing and working with thousands of teachers , with many being some of the most talented and experienced in their profession. I’ve always viewed this as an opportunity for me to learn from the best and (I hope) to become a better teacher in my own right.

In 2021, I began remotely teaching English as a Second Language. This led to opportunities for me to remotely teach Language Arts and Math, as well. I have , or have had, students in Australia, Japan, Mainland China, and several other Asian countries. I’ve also taught students in California (Los Angeles Unified, Upland Unified, Bellflower Unified, and Ocean View School District in Huntington Beach), New Jersey (New Brunswick Public and Washington Twp Public), and Michigan (Detroit Public).

Thus far, my English classes have all been 1 on 1, with my language arts and math classes having up to 4 students per class. I welcome either format.
